It's a week since my surgery. I. FEEL. AMAZING!!!!
Can I say it again?
I FEEL AMAZING!!!
It has to be the tripled dose of Synthroid. Dunno what else it could be. But I'm loving it. I wake up feeling refreshed, for the first time ever that I can remember.
EVER!
Who never knows what it's like to wake up feeling rested? I used to be one of them. No more, as far as I can tell. Who knows.
I had one small hiccup. Last Thursday night, my incision area was SUPER swollen and itchy. I had the answering service page my surgeon for me at 10:30 at night. I felt like a jerk, but I was getting worried. I went to see her the next day, and I have two suspicions on what it was: #1-I think I'm allergic to the adhesive that was on the original bandage. I couldn't get it all the way off, and once I learned the alcohol/baby oil trick, I did that and it felt better; and #2-I think the steri-strip holding me together may have been on too tight. She took it off, and it IMMEDIATELY felt better. She put a new one on, and now I can't wait for it to fall off. Friday is the magical day.
What else...hmmm.
I'm still off work, but I'm getting anxious to go back. I think the extra week was for the best, because as well-rested as I feel in the mornings, I still get really tired really fast. I was at work yesterday for some stuff I had to do, and I was really tired when I got home. A trip to Costco was nearly the end of me this weekend. Man, I was exhausted.
My medical bills have been rolling in. Too bad there's no easy emoticon for *pale*. So far, it's about 2" thick. I'm getting worried how everything will get paid for, and we manage to keep our house and car. :( I don't know. Brodie may get presents from Dollar Tree for Christmas (ok, exaggerating, but not too far off).
Anyway, that's been my week.
